If the People Who Invented 35,000 X 2000 could have Seen the Future...?

...Would They have still Launched it?

---------------

When I was writing the post on 35,000 X 2000 as an act of repentance that the Lord did not bless, I described the fruit of that program in a way I'd not thought about it before.

In the years since the program ended in failure, dozens of CGGC churches have closed and, according to Lance Finley, the current CGGC CEO, eighty per cent CGGC still functioning are either stagnant or declining.

So, considering the CGGC truth in 2017 and how CGGC mountaintoppers behave, I have been asking myself this question:

If, when 35,000 X 2000 was being developed, someone spoke up and said that, by 2017, dozens of our churches existing will have closed and 80 per cent of those that remain will be stagnant or declining, would they have gone through with it?

Based on how CGGC mountaintoppers behave, I'm certain that they would still have launched the program.

I am absolutely convinced that they would have.

Here's why:

Nearly all of the people in leadership in the CGGC are gifted by the Lord to be shepherds and, in the CGGC, they have conducted a shepherdly, gentle, Stalin-like purge of every other form of APEST giftedness.

Several years ago, I began to use the term, Shepherd Mafia, to describe the CGGC leadership culture.

A part of what I mean when I call CGGC mountaintoppers a Shepherd Mafia is that CGGC leaders accept only two types of people as CGGC leaders.

1. Other shepherds.
2. People with other APEST gifts who submit their gift to shepherd values. As an example, the CGGC Shepherd Mafia loves apostles who adopt shepherd values and work to plant churches rather than make disciples, as Jesus commanded them to. Hence, if someone who is an apostle will only become flock, not Kingdom, focused, s/he can thrive in the CGGC and become a church planter.  If an evangelist is willing to become a pastor and grow a local flock, s/he will thrive in the CGGC.

In the CGGC, leaders can think and act only in flock focused terms.

Hence, clearly, even though the 35,000 X 2000 program was not of the Spirit, after much prayer, the Shepherd Mafia became convinced that it was.

Our Shepherd Mafia has silenced prophetic voices for generations. Prophets have not been welcomed here, they have learned that they are not welcome in the CGGC and, apparently, when they don't leave on their own and also don't stop speaking, they are forced out of the CGGC community.

Having been near the mountaintop when 35,000 X 2000 was being launched, I can attest to the fact that no prophets were part of the creation of it or of its launching.

I believe that no one living in the prophetic gift would have participated in creating 35,000 X 2000.

I believe that anyone living in the prophetic gift, would have been able to see the disaster in the making.

And, I'm convinced that if a prophet would have been present and warned that what has happened would happen, the Shepherd Mafia would have pooped all over him/her because that's all they've done for years.

---------------

Our shepherd leaders can only see flock focused solutions to our problems.

The Lord never blesses them.

And, our Shepherd Mafia never changes its way of thinking. It never repents.

If someone had told them that in 2017, after 35,000 X 2000, dozens of churches would have closed and 80 per cent of CGGC congregations that remain will be stagnant or declining, they would have done it anyway. I have no doubt about it.

For all the talk about Kingdom and discipling, when CGGC mountaintoppers act, they are still focused on getting people to join CGGC flocks.

They must decrease. He must increase.

  1. I've received comments about these 35,000 X 2000 posts from someone who gave me permission to answer either on or off the blog. S/He didn't give me permission to give a name, so I won't.

There were several issues raised in those comments. One of them raises a question about how closely tied the demise of the institutional church and the status of the Kingdom are.

This is something I've been reflecting on for a while.

    And, I'm not sure.

But, I think it may be possible that in the West, where institutionized Christianity appears to be in the throes of death, that the Kingdom of God may be, at the very least, holding its own, if not expanding.

What's clear in the CGGC is that, for the institution, 35,000 X 2000 has born disastrous fruit. But, has it impacted the Kingdom among people touched by the CGGC? Even provoked its growth?

More than a few people read this blog and, are influenced by it. How much changed behavior there is, I can't say.

So, is the Kingdom actually growing as the institutionized CGGC dies?

Perhaps it is. Perhaps it is.
