In a recent off the blog conversation with someone who is still in the ERC, is active in the Conference and is still working to see it change for the better and who still hopes,...
...I made the observation that I know people who love the ERC/CGGC and who hope to see it change for the better...
...but who are no longer a part of the denomination.
These are good people. Gifted people. Passionate people. People who could be a part of the making of change for the better...
...and, in some cases, they are still doing Kingdom-building...
...but in other places and for other bodies...
...and for the same the Lord the CGGC purports to serve.
Why are they no longer serving with us? Why are their gifts and passions invested in the ministries of other bodies?
Answer: The CGGC SHEPHERD MAFIA:
The same gang who, in the ERC, has composed the new New Strategic Plan and is attempting to engineer its implementation under the guise of making some preliminary amendments to the constitution...
...while we plan to approve a new Constitution at Conference in 2018...
...is also responsible for engineering the exile, from the Conference, of people who would, if they could, work for change in the ERC.

Who are the people who are no longer in the ERC/CGGC?
Based on my knowledge:
They are innovators who hoped to lead change but would have disrupted the pastor-dominated, church-focused traditions of the ERC.
They are seekers and proclaimers of biblical truth who called the denomination to make disciples and build Kingdom and criticized church obsession.
They are passionate preachers of a simple and straightforward gospel...to unbelievers,...challenging them to a life focused in repentance, which brings forgiveness of sins, and in faith in Jesus.

Why are they gone?
Why is their passion for change, their commitment to truth and their focus on reaching the lost gone from, especially, the ERC?
They were whacked by the Shepherd Mafia.
In most cases, they left on their own. They reached a point at whichthey threw up their hands in frustration because their desire for change, their passion for the Word and their need to see unbelievers follow Jesus was disrespected and ignored while the shepherd leaders of, especially, the ERC focused on traditions intended to preserve the church and its institutions.

And, besides those who left on their own, I don't know how many cases there were that are similar to mine.
I don't know how many had their credentials challenged by the Shepherd Mafia.
Any of the promoters of change, truth and the reaching of the lost who were merely licensed simply lost their license the next year.
Any who were ordained? Many of them probably believed the lie contained in the "Dear Dr. Sloat" letter I copied on to the blog...
...and returned their ordination certificate on the authority of the ERC Administrative Council.
Or, and this was the Mafia's back up plan in my case,...
...had their ordination recalled when the Conference in session approved the minutes of the Administrative Council.
(Kevin, probably inadvertently, told me, in passing, that that was the back-up plan for me because I knew enough not to fall for the Dr. Sloat ploy.)
You ERCers have no idea how many ordinations you have recalled as you mindlessly voted, "Aye," to approve the minutes of the Administrative Council.
My case is nearly unique thanks to the integrity of my good friend, Randy Jenkins, who pressed the issue of the yanking of my ordination on the Conference floor and moved, as rumor has it, that my case be addressed directly.
But, I have no idea how many credentials were yanked by the Shepherd Mafia on the Conference floor through the use of Robert's Rules of Order.

My case aside, consider where the CGGC/ERC could be today, if, over the past 40 years, the innovators, and the fiery truth mongers and the preachers of the gospel to the lost had been embraced and empowered, not forced, by the Shepherd Mafia, from our part of the Kingdom.

Now, take note of where we are...
...where we all acknowledge we are...
...where even the current leaders of the Shepherd Mafia tell us we are.

And, consider what it means that the mafiosi want to strengthen their stranglehold of control over the ERC with their new New Strategic Plan.
If you're a part of the ERC, you probably know at least one person, besides me, who sought change, fought for a way rooted in biblical truth or focused on taking the gospel to sinners but who is no longer around.
Are we doing well with the Shepherd Mafia in charge or would we be better off if the people the Shepherd Mafia has driven from our part of the Kingdom were still among us?
Why would we even think about letting the Shepherd Mafia write the next chapter of our story?
The Shepherd Mafia wants to write the next chapter. They're aggressively trying to by calling the Conference together...
...and, asking it to amend ARTICLE VII of the ERC Constitution...but never telling you that, if you do that, you have empowered the hierarchs to implement their new New Strategic Plan.
I pray that you won't do give them what they want.
We must repent.
I hope you will repent of allowing the ERC hierarchs to continue to ruin the ministry of the ERC.
